These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") shall govern the attendance of all delegates ("Applicant") to the Silver Oaks Model United Nations ("Event").
Silver Oaks Model United Nations (SOMUN) will make reasonable efforts to ensure that the contents of this site are accurate and up to date. However, SOMUN reserves the right to change information at any time.
SOMUN assumes that the Applicant’s legal guardian has given their express consent for participating in SOMUN. Therefore, the legal guardian is responsible for the conduct and activities of their respective ward during this event/conference.
Eligibility
- The Applicant must complete the online registration at somunhyd.com.
- The maximum age limit for registering for SOMUN is 18 years.
Registration Information
- Applicants must provide accurate information on the application form, including dietary or special access requirements.
- SOMUN will not be held liable for errors caused due to incorrect information provided by the Applicant.
Safety and Security
- Applicants, along with their legal guardians, are responsible for the safety of their belongings at the venue.
- SOMUN is not liable for the loss or damage of personal property.
- Security checks may be conducted to ensure a safe environment for all participants.
Liability
- SOMUN disclaims any liability for loss, mental distress, or physical harm, unless solely attributable to SOMUN’s willful misconduct.
- Applicants and their legal guardians are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of their belongings while attending SOMUN.
Registrations and Deadline Criteria
- Registrations must be completed through the official SOMUN website.
- Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, based on maximum council capacity and availability of preferred countries.
Privacy
- SOMUN assumes implied consent for photographs or videos to be taken during the event for promotional purposes.
- SOMUN may share basic personal details of the Applicant, such as name, age, email, and phone number.
Intellectual Property
All SOMUN materials, including the website content, background guides, and handbooks, are the property of SOMUN. No materials may be modified, distributed, or used without written permission.
Mode of Payments
- Payments must be made through the official website.
- SOMUN is not liable for payments made to third parties.
Refund Policy
- Payments are non-refundable.
- If the event is canceled by SOMUN for organizational reasons or force majeure, the registration fee will be refunded in full.
Narcotics Clause
- Applicants are strictly prohibited from bringing, possessing, or using narcotics within the venue premises.
- Violations will result in immediate expulsion, notification of legal guardians, and legal reporting.
Code of Conduct
- Applicants must provide truthful information during registration.
- Plagiarism or use of Generative AI for speeches is prohibited and will result in disqualification.
- Applicants must respect SOMUN staff, delegates, and guests at all times.
By registering for SOMUN, Applicants and their legal guardians implicitly agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
